Five locals receive Attorney General Honors Award

Community service can take many shapes and forms. The five Attorney General Honors Award recipients from Mid-Missouri showcase that.

Several Missourians from across the state received the Attorney General Honors Award this year, which recognizes outstanding public achievements and those who go above and beyond to positively impact their communities.

The five local award winners include:

• Brenda Rieke, the Cole County Relay for Life 2022 volunteer of the year who raised almost $12,000 for the charity this year.

• Esha Pattan, the 2022 Jefferson City High School valedictorian.

• Carrington Stilabower, the 2022 Capital City High School valedictorian.

• Ethan and Kaylee Strobel, who completed several agricultural projects with the Stringtown-Corinth 4-H Club.

Rieke said it was an honor to receive the award.

"Community service is very important to me," she said. "If I can give back, I will always try to do what I can whether it is in donations or service."

Anyone can nominate someone for the Missouri Attorney General Honors Award on the Attorney General's website.
