Restaurant offers free tea day again

McAlister's Deli is capping off its summer-long tea celebration with a free tea for customers Thursday, July 21.

The popular deli chain is offering a free 32 oz. serving of tea for its customers for one day only at each of its locations, including in Jefferson City. Fans of the popular summer drink will choose between sweet, unsweet or half-cut, a mix of tea and lemonade or tea with flavored shots.

The offer is limited to one free tea per customer or four teas per order through the McAlister's Deli site or app. Third-party vendors will be excluded from the offer.

The special day will cap off McAlister's summer-long Sweet Sips Tea Fest, which kicked off in May when rewards members were treated to a preview of two new tea flavors. It also unveiled a sweet tea-flavored ice cream in June, a collaboration with artisanal ice cream brand Creamalicious that introduced pints churned with McAlister's popular brew of tea.

Groups still have until July 31 to receive a free gallon of tea with a catering order of $100 or more.

Rewards members purchasing tea through July 21 will also be entered in a drawing to win free tea for a year, with each purchase marked down as an entry.

The chain's tea was introduced 30 years ago and proved an immediate hit, with its black tea recipe remaining popular today.

McAlister's has 30 locations in Missouri, including another one in Columbia. It boasts more than 500 total locations across 29 states.

Jefferson City McAlister's Deli is open daily from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. at 2323 Missouri Blvd.
