Jefferson City High School announced its Winter Sports Court king and queen last week after a week of celebrations.

Some of those celebrations were delayed. The pep assembly, scheduled for Friday, was canceled along with school because of a staffing shortage due to the coronavirus. The district announced it would also postpone the dance and PowerPuff game, with the new date to be determined. The dance's theme will be "How Sweet it is to be a Jay."

The spirit week's theme included Laffy Taffy day, in which students were asked to dress wacky, Candyland Colors, in which they dressed in a different color for each grade, Player Swap, in which students dress like teachers and vice versa, and Jay Day.

The Winter Court king and queen were crowned Thursday night at the girls basketball game against Battle High School. Zane Wilson was named king and Camryn Swinfard was crowned queen.
