Girls Wrestling: Lady Jays at Mexico Scramble

MEXICO -- The Jefferson City Lady Jays finished 2-3 in duals Monday at the Mexico Girls Scramble.

Jefferson City posted victories against Capital City (42-6 and Centralia (36-12). The Lady Jays fell to Camdenton (60-18), Fulton (54-24) and Mexico (36-33).

Ayo Ilesanmi led the Lady Jays with a 5-0 record at 149 pounds. She won four matches by fall, all in the first period, and added a win by forfeit.

Finishing with 4-1 records for Jefferson City were Emma Durrill at 100, Lydia Hudson at 120 and Kyla Finney at 235.

Hudson won three matches by fall -- two in the second period and one in the first period -- and had a win by forfeit. Durrill and Finney each won four matches by forfeit.

The Lady Jays remaining wrestlers -- Kaylee Redcay at 130, Deja’Nette Wallce at 174 and Kenzie Moore at 194 -- each had 3-2 records in the Scramble.

Moore had two pins and one win by forfeit, Redcay won a 4-1 decision against Mexico’s Brett Iman and had two wins by forfeit and Wallace won her three matches by forfeit.

Jefferson City is off until Jan. 25, when it had a Central Missouri Activities Conference dual at Hickman.
