Dear Editor:
Today is the day we need a new start.
Last year is gone and we're willing to part.
With the Hustle and bustle and frantic pursuit.
Of virus to try us and politics to boot.
There never was a good time to say halt.
And there was plenty found to be at fault.
For illness and death and crude politics.
And many situations difficult to fix.
Now all we can hope for is time out.
To let our new year turn us about.
Stopping the dying with inoculations.
And needed improvement in party relations.
So let's give our new year a fighting chance.
To improve life without a backward glance.
Hopefully to see a stronger Democracy.
And a better existence for you and for me.
