The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Ameren Missouri to decrease the Energy Efficiency Investment Charge (EEIC) that appears on the monthly bills of Ameren electric customers.
For a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity a month, the EEIC will drop from approximately $5.35 a month to approximately $3.76 a month, a decrease of $1.59 a month.
The change is expected to take effect Feb. 1.
The adjustment reflects costs of approved energy efficiency programs under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act. The EEIC is a charge which encourages utility companies to implement energy efficiency programs.
