Your Opinion: Shelter needed for homeless

Sheryl Jurgensmeyer

Jefferson City

Dear Editor:

It's sad the homeless in the Jefferson City area are needing housing. There is a very large hotel sitting within the city limits going to waste and empty. Such a place that could house many homeless or families still put out by the tornado until they could find permanent homes.

The old Ramada Inn would be such a perfect place for the city to buy and renovate for housing the homeless, veterans and folks down on their luck. Instead of the recently wasted money on the bridge to an island, would that money be better appropriated to help others who need a home?
