Shooting victim charged in domestic assault

A Jefferson City man who was shot following a domestic violence incident Thursday afternoon has been charged in connection with a similar incident that occurred at the residence where the shooting took place.

Johnny Jordan, 46, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and second-degree burglary.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement states Jordan was involved in an assault in the 100 block of North Ventura Avenue around 8:46 a.m. Thursday.

The victim, Jordan's girlfriend, alleged Jordan assaulted her Wednesday night and then fled the residence.

On Thursday morning, according to the girlfriend, Jordan gained access to her apartment and, once inside, started kicking her in the head, causing her to fall off her couch. While on the ground, the girlfriend alleged Jordan continued kicking her in the head and stomping on her back.
