The Rev. Harvel Sanders will be presenting a talk for the Historic City of Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. today at the Historic City of Jefferson Annex, 601 E. High St. It is free and open to the public.
Sanders was pastor of the Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City for 35 years, serving from 1970-2005.
His talk is titled The Ghosts of Rectors Past, in which he will share his search for information on his 29 predecessors at Grace Episcopal, from its founding in 1840 until 1970. Expecting to find little information, he instead uncovered some fascinating history, including incriminating information on one "scoundrel." He will talk about how important it is for the congregation to know their history.
