JC Parks challenges you to get outdoors and hit the trails this season.

Back for a second year, participants in the Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department's Trails Less Traveled Facebook Challenge are asked to walk, run or bike 22 miles May 1 through July 31. Miles should be tracked on a smartphone or activity tracker then shared on Facebook by tagging @JeffersonCityTrail Users and @JeffCityParks or posting to the Trails Less Traveled Facebook group page.

Participants will be entered in a raffle that will be drawn July 31.

It's free to participate, but registration is required now through July 31. For an optional $15 fee at registration, participants will receive a T-shirt.

Registration is available at www.jcparks.com or by calling 634-6482. Registration packets will be available for pickup from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Washington Park near the ice arena, 711 Kansas St. After Sunday, packets can be picked up at The Linc, 1299 Lafayette St.
