The Fulton Police Department located an unidentified male body Tuesday morning believed to be a third shooting victim in a home invasion from the night before.

Officers responded to a report of a found body at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday around Ninth Street and Westminster Avenue.

In a news release, Fulton Police Chief Bill Ladwig said officers were called for shots fired in the 300 block of West Ninth Street just before 9 p.m. Monday.

Officers located a 33-year-old man that had a gunshot wound to the leg and a 58-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers provided aid to the severely injured man, but he was later pronounced dead at a Columbia Hospital. The other man was transported to a hospital via private vehicle.

During their investigation, Ladwig said they learned the incident began as a home invasion with a woman being assaulted before the shots were fired.

Ladwig said this is an ongoing investigation and no names of those involved are being released. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact FPD at 573-592-3100.
