Five injured in Thursday crash

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Morgan County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on Missouri 52, just east of Walnut Road.

Anne Kirchhofer, 81, of Stover, approached a vehicle driven by Wayne Cleveland, 45, of Tipton, from behind at a high rate of speed. Kirchhofer swerved into the westbound lane of 52 into oncoming traffic, then went back into the eastbound lane where she struck the rear of Cleveland's vehicle.

Kirchhofer went off the right side of 52, returned to the roadway and crossed the centerline where she struck a vehicle driven by Lisa Davidson, 55, of Versailles, head-on.

Kirchhofer was treated for moderate injuries while her passenger, Eldon Vandyke, 74, of Stover, was treated for minor injuries.

Davidson was treated for serious injuries while her 3-year-old male passenger from Versailles was treated for minor injuries.

Cleveland was treated for minor injuries.

Davidson was the only one among those involved in the crash to not be wearing a seat belt.

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. on Westbound U.S. 54 at Route D.

William Davenport, 71, of Eldon, failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Steven Jackson, 55, of Ashland, as Jackson entered U.S. 54. Jackson then collided with Davenport.

Jackson had no reported injuries, but Davenport had moderate injuries and his passenger, Karen Davenport, 65, of Eldon, was treated for serious injuries.
