Callaway County voters settled six contested races Tuesday, as well as approving additional funds for two fire districts.
The county had a slight increase in voter turnout from last year with 2,183 ballots cast or 8.97 percent of the county’s 24,330 registered voters.
The complete, but unofficial returns in Callaway County included:
• Landon Oxley will continue to serve as the Holts Summit mayor after receiving 185 of the 327 votes cast. Coltin McGowan received 139 votes, and there were three write-in votes.
• The Holts Summit Fire Protection District sought a tax levy of not more than 10 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. Funds will go toward staffing the station on South Summit Drive. The issue received 428 votes in favor of the tax levy, or 57.30 percent, with 319 votes against it.
• Susan Sundermeyer will represent Holts Summit Ward 2 after receiving 60 out of the 143 votes cast. Thomas J. Wulff received 49 votes and Richard Parks received 32 votes. Two write-in votes were cast.
• Terry Shaw will continue to serve as New Bloomfield mayor after receiving 59 of the 94 votes cast. Daniel Kliethermes received 32 votes and Diane Hoelscher received three votes.
• Scott Lowe and Andrew Bonderer were elected to the Fulton School Board with 421 and 424 votes, respectively, out of 1,129 cast. Tyler Steffens received 274 votes.
• Sandra Lavy and Travis Doerhoff were elected to the North Callaway School District with 328 and 285 votes, respectively. Dustin Moore received 273 and Christopher Moore received 190.
• Valerie Sebacher was elected to represent Fulton Ward 1 on the City Council with 115 of the 210 votes cast. Incumbent Ballard Simmons received 93 votes.
• The North Callaway Fire Protection District sought a tax levy of not more than 20 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. Funds will go toward upgrading equipment at the district’s various stations. The issue received 299 votes in favor of the tax levy, or 59.92 percent, with 200 people voting against it.
