Dear Editor:
The REAL ID article in last Sunday's Views section was interesting. I recently renewed my driver's license and got a REAL ID. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and speed at which it was accomplished. I went in to the new licensing office off of Eastland Drive in Jefferson City. I did have my birth certificate and marriage license - both from a different state - and my expiring Missouri driver's license. The employee was very friendly and efficient. My ID was issued within 10 minutes, a temporary copy given with a promise of the permanent one to come in the mail in 10-30 days. Overall a surprising and successful interaction with the government.
