Battle of the Brews on tap at Riverside

Beer, food and live music are on tap Saturday during the sixth annual Battle of the Brews.

Gates open at 4 p.m. at the Ellis-Porter Riverside Park amphitheater, 300 Ellis Porter Drive, and the event lasts until the beer runs out.

Attendees will be able to sample beers from area breweries and home brewers and vote for their favorite. Winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m.

Participating commercial brewers include: Last Flight Brewing Company, Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, Logboat Brewing Company, Bell's Brewery, Bee's Knees Brewing Company, Public House Brewing Company and O'Fallon Brewing Company. The event will also feature home brews from: Boo Brothers Brewery, StormCrow Home Brew, Jefferson Ale Works, Yellow Otter Brewing Company, Wild Tendencies Brewing & Blending, Seth Raithel, St. Charles County Society of Brewers, Cardinal Street Brewing, Mile Marker Brewing Company, Circle Street Brewery, Four Score Brewing and Forck Brewery.

Food vendors - Rebel Tacos, JQ's on High, Wrap It Up, Ready Popped Popcorn and RJ's Real Italian Ice - will also be on site, as will alternative beverage options from St. James Winery and DogMaster Distillery.

The evening will also feature raffles and prizes as well as live music from the Dave Baker Band and MK Ultra.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 the day of the event. They can be purchased at www.battleofthebrewsjc.com or the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, 213 Adams St. Battle of the Brews attendees must be 21 years of age or older; minors will not be admitted.

A fundraiser sponsored by the Leadership Jefferson City class of 2020, the sixth Battle of the Brews will benefit the Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter, Common Ground, The Special Learning Center, and the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson City.

The fifth annual Leadership Jefferson City class event raised more than $34,000 in 2019; the 2020 class's event was postponed due to COVID-19.
