Your Opinion: Suggestions to avoid post-arrest problems

by Rob Murray, Jefferson City | June 3, 2015 at 12:02 p.m. | Updated June 3, 2015 at 12:02 p.m.

Dear Editor:

I see that a group has instituted a lawsuit against St. Ann for a "post-arrest, money-based detention scheme" (wow).

Here are a few radical right wing ideas:

Don't break the law and you wont be arrested; If you do break the law and are caught, comply with police orders and don't resist.

Compliance will virtually eliminate any opportunity for the police to "over react"; once you have been arrested, show up for court as you have promised you will.

Warrants are not issued for people who appear for their court date; if you do not appear for your court date after you have broken the law expect to have a warrant issued (with additional fines) for non appearance.

Otherwise there is no incentive at all to appear in court to answer for the law(s) that you have ignored.
