Dorial Green-Beckham smiles Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, 2012, after announcing he will play at Missouri at a news conference in Springfield.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel sat in his office Wednesday morning. He couldn't bear to watch what was about to unfold.

Offensive coordinator David Yost had been up since 4 a.m., anxiously waiting what would come a little after 9 a.m.

When Springfield Hillcrest receiver Dorial Green-Beckham put on a Missouri hat in front of more than 1,000 Hillcrest students and many more watching live on ESPNU, Missouri bore the fruit of six years of hard labor.

The Tigers had landed the nation's No. 1 recruit.
