Melissa Gassner and Craig Bruemmer, both of Jefferson City, were married at 1 p.m., June 27, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Father I. Medina performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Joe and Sheila Gassner, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of Charlie and Linda Bruemmer, Jefferson City. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown with elegant crystal beading along the V-neckline and continued down the open back. The lace appliques followed the fit and flare and accented the sheer side illusion. The back was complete with bridal buttons and a cathedral-length train and veil. She carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of ivory garden roses, vendella roses, ivory spray roses, blush pink lisianthus, ivory stock, astilbe and hydrangea, with stems wrapped in ivory satin. The honor attendants were Michelle Baumhoer, sister of the bride, and Marla Strein, cousin of the bride. The attendants were Dayla Gassner, sister-in-law of the bride; Hannah Brondel, friend of the bride; Julie Haupt, friend of the bride; Kaitlyn Peters, friend of the bride; Michele Wittkop, friend of the bride; Kierstie Janson, friend of the bride; and Holly Ortmeyer, friend of the bride. The best men were Derek Bruemmer, brother of the groom, and Sean Sandbothe, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included: Brent Bruemmer, brother of the groom; Billy Bruemmer, brother of the groom; Travis Bruemmer, brother of the groom; Cory Gassner, brother of the bride; Jacob Gassner, brother of the bride; Ryan Williams, friend of the groom; Ben Rackers, friend of the groom; and Kaleb Vanderfeltz, friend of the groom. The flower girls were Emmy Baumhoer, daughter of Casey and Michelle Baumhoer, niece and goddaughter of the bride; Sadie Bruemmer, daughter of Billy and Jenny Bruemmer, niece and goddaugher of the groom; and Whitley Bruemmer, daughter of Brent and Audey Bruemmer, niece and goddaughter of the groom. The ring bearer was Shay Stegeman, son of Allen and Andrea Stegeman, cousin and godson of the bride. The candlelighter was Chelsey Wilbers, friend of the bride. The ushers were Casey Baumhoer, brother-in-law of the bride, and Matthew Dampf, cousin of the bride. The lectors were Jenny Bruemmer, Audrey Bruemmer, Megan Bruemmer, and Shannon Bruemmer. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at the Wardsville Lions Club Hall. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held June 26 at the Wardsville Lions Club Hall. The bride is a 2010 graduate of Helias Catholic High School and a graduate of Lincoln University with a BS of Nursing Science. She is a RN at SSM Health Center. The groom is a 2007 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a graduate of Linn State Technical College with a Heavy Equipment Operations degree. He is employed with Summit Mechanical, Inc. Due to COVID, a wedding trip will be taken at a later date. The couple resides in Jefferson City.
