Maura Clare Shimmens and Andrew Donald Gentry, both of Albuquerque, N.M., were married at 1 p.m., June 26, at St. Joseph Cathedral, Jefferson City. Monsignor David Cox performed the double-ring ceremony, assisted by Father Chris Cordes, Father Patrick Russell, Father Christopher Aubuchon, and Deacon Kenny Wildhaber. The bride is the daughter of Mike and Mary Ellen Shimmens, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of Carl and Debbie Gentry, St. Peters. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The honor attendant was Rachel Smith, friend of the bride. The attendants were Becca Gentry, sister of the groom; Deanna Schmidt, Katie Alexander, Kathleen Placke, and Gloria Farmer, all friends of the bride. The best man was Conner Havrilla, friend of the groom. The groomsmen included Matthew Gentry, brother of the groom; Nick Gentry, brother of the groom; Dominic Enriquez, friend of the groom; Thomas Gentry, brother of the groom; and Conaire Bradfield, friend of the groom. The flower girl was Mollie McBaine, daughter of Brad and Jennifer McBaine, goddaughter of the bride. The ushers were Jake Krussel, friend of the groom, and Justin Gassel, friend of the couple. Music was provided by Adam Barker, violin; Jim Clark, guitar; Paul Rueschhoff, cello; and Scott Sellner, piano; with Natalie Clark, vocalist. The lectors were Deacon Chris Korte and Justin Gassel, friends of the couple. Offertory was presented by Kristy Huenink, godmother and cousin of the bride, and Emily Morrison, godmother and aunt of the groom. A reception dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Martins. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held June 25 at Madison's Cafe. The bride is a 2017 graduate of Helias High School, Jefferson City; and a 2020 graduate of Truman State University, Kirksville, with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a current graduate student at the University of Illinois pursuing a Library and Information Science degree. The groom is a 2017 graduate of Christian Brothers College High School, St. Louis; and a 2021 graduate of Truman State University, Kirksville, with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He is a current PhD candidate at the University of New Mexico pursuing a Physics degree. The couple resides in Albuquerque, N.M.
