Kay Scott and Tom Heckman, both of Jefferson City, were married at 2 p.m., November 30, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Fr. Don Antweiler performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Clara Rackers, Jefferson City, and the late Don Rackers. The groom is the son of Bernice Heckman, Wardsville, and the late Harold Heckman. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Dan Rackers. The honor attendant was Morgan Wieberg, Jefferson City, friend of the bride. The best man was Kent Kaiser, Jefferson City, friend of the groom. The flower girl was Wrenn Schlotz, daughter of Kyle Schlotz and Taylor Haslag, Wardsville, great-niece of the bride. The ring bearer was Jagger Gilstrap, son of Andrew and Adria Gilstrap, Kansas City, great-nephew of the bride. The ushers were Don Renekemeyer, Jefferson City, uncle of the groom, and Troy Renekemeyer, Leawood, Kan., cousin of the groom. The vocalists were Kevin and Jackie Kampeter, Jefferson City. The Mass server was Sam Wyrick, Jefferson City. The lectors were Diane Schlotz, O'Fallon, sister of the bride; Sue Schlotz, Wardsville, sister of the bride; and Shana Crane, O'Fallon, sister of the bride. Offertory was presented by Ric and Mary Heckman, California, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, and Ron and Brenda Heckman, Meta, brother and sister-in-law of the groom. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Capital Plaza Hotel, Jefferson City. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bride and groom, was held November 29, 2019, at Madison's Cafe, Jefferson City. The bride is a 1978 graduate of Helias High School. She is a financial coordinator for Keen Dental Care, Columbia. The groom is a 1977 graduate of Helias High School. He is CFO at Digital Ally, Inc., Lenexa, Kan. After a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple resides in Jefferson City.
