Emilie Kempen, Arnold, and Craig Wehmeyer, Holts Summit, were married at 2 p.m., July 1, at the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, Concordia Seminary St. Louis, Clayton. Rev. Ron Roma performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ken Kempen Jr. and Karen Kempen, Arnold. The groom is the son of Allen Wehmeyer and Lisa Wehmeyer, Holts Summit. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory lace over ivory satin, strapless wedding gown with hand-sewn embellishments and scalloped lace train. She completed her ensemble with a cathedral-length veil and carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, blush peonies, and ivory roses. The honor attendants were Mollie Kempen and Gracie Kempen, both of Arnold, sisters of the bride. The attendants were Kara Wehmeyer, Holts Summit, sister of the groom; Natalie Bailey, Wake Forest, N.C., cousin of the bride; Katie Phillips, O'Fallon, cousin of the bride; Kayla Lohman, Aiea, Hawaii, friend of the bride; Linnea Heimsoth and Rena Heimsoth, both of Sedalia, friends of the bride; and Mollie Crader, Columbia, friend of the bride. They wore floor-length royal blue gowns. The best man was Jason Bangert, Jefferson City, friend of the groom. The groomsmen included Jon Wehmeyer, Holts Summit, uncle of the groom; Lance Sommerer, Honey Creek, friend of the groom; Chance Sommerer, Honey Creek, friend of the groom; Kevin Wehmeyer, Tomball, Texas, cousin of the groom; Jared Townley, St. Louis, friend of the groom; and Michael Wilshusen, St. Louis, friend of the groom. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at the Clayton Plaza Hotel. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held June 30 at Urban Chestnut Brewery. The bride is a 2012 graduate of Lutheran High School South, St. Louis, and a 2016 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a BSN - Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis. The groom is a 2012 high school graduate and a 2016 graduate of Truman State University, Kirksville, with an Agricultural Science degree. He is a student at Concordia Seminary studying Masters of Divinity. After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in St. Louis.
