Ashley Falter and Jared Bender, both of Basehor, Kan., were married at 1 p.m., September 2, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor, Kan. Father Richard McDonald performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Sandi Falter, Westphalia. The groom is the son of Mike and Diane Bender, Sterling, Kan. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The honor attendants were Alicia Paddock, Gardner Kan., sister of the bride; and Stacy Fick, Jefferson City, sister of the bride. The best men were Josh Bender, Salt Lake City, Utah, brother of the groom; and Jordan Bender, Beavercreek, Ohio, brother of the groom. The flower girl was Lauren Paddock, daughter of Alicia and Adam Paddock, Gardner, Kan., niece of the bride. The ring bearer was Owen Fick, son of Stacy and Ryan Fick, Jefferson City, nephew and godson of the bride. The ushers were Timothy Fick, Jefferson City, nephew of the bride; and Michael Garwood, Manhattan, Kan., cousin and godson of the groom. The lectors were Amanda Robinette, Fort Riley, Kan., friend of the bride; Missy Bexten, Ashland, friend of the bride; and Josh Lehmen, Columbia, friend of the bride. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Riverfront Community Center, Leavenworth, Kan. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held September 1 at Grinder's, Leavenworth, Kan. The bride is a 2002 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia, and a 2006 graduate of Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, with a B.S.B.A in Accounting and Finance. She is an Accounting Manager at Smiths Interconnect. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Sterling High School, Sterling, Kan.; and 2004 graduate of Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan., with a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering Technology. He is a General Engineer at the Department of Transportation. After a wedding trip to Hopkins, Belize, the couple resides in Basehor, Kan.
