Mr. and Mrs. William L. Niekamp, Jefferson City, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a road trip to southern Missouri and Oklahoma. William L. Niekamp and M. Janie Tappel were married October 23, 1971, at St. Stanislaus Church, Wardsville. The late Father Kenneth Brockel officiated. They were attended by Jim Niekamp, Columbia; Darlene (Tappel) Norment, Wardsville; Bernard Tappel, Osage Bluff; Patti (Cardwell) Tappel, Osage Bluff; Warren Lecuru, deceased; and Viola (Niekamp) Schaefer, Taos. Mr. and Mrs. Niekamp have four children: Matthew Niekamp, St. Thomas; Nicholas Niekamp and his wife Sheila, Henley; Anne (Niekamp) Gilbert and her husband Jason, Wardsville; and Ellen (Niekamp) Golden and her husband Brian, Russellville. They also have nine grandchildren: Derick Niekamp, Chelsea Niekamp, Kyle Niekamp, Madyson Niekamp, Rylee Niekamp, Bradley Gilbert (deceased), Heather Gilbert, Laycee Gilbert, and Amos Golden.
