Kayla Tran & Brendan Hoey

Kayla Tran and Brendan Hoey, both of Jefferson City, were married October 10, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church, Jefferson City. Father Anthony Rinaldo and Deacon Ray Purvis performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Thien Tran, Mesa, Ariz., and Lorna Tran, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of Michael and Mary Beth Hoey, Jefferson City. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory organza strapless ballgown with a unique sweetheart neckline and corseted bodice embellished with embroidery and crystals. The skirt had soft pick-up details accented with flowers, feathers, and pearls. She completed her ensemble with a fingertip length raw edge tulle veil with scattered crystals. She carried a clutch bouquet of white and purple roses, calla lilies, alstroemeria, stock, and succulents with mixed greenery and white satin ribbon wrap. The honor attendant was Annette Do, Minneapolis, Minn., cousin of the bride. The attendants were Kristin Miller, Taos, cousin of the bride; Amber Ernst, St. Thomas, friend of the couple; Lyndsay Ludy, Osage Bend, friend of the couple; and Kristy Toplikar, Columbia, friend of the couple. They wore plum satin, floor-length, one shoulder dresses with a bling shoulder embellishment accent. The best man was Aaron Carrender, Jefferson City, friend of the couple. The groomsmen included: Maurice Harris, Minneapolis, Minn., friend of the couple; Josh Ernst, St. Thomas, friend of the couple; James Ludy, Osage Bend, friend of the couple; and Chris Toplikar, Columbia, friend of the couple. The flower girls were Leah Pontius and Sarah Pontius, daughters of Jared and Gina Pontius, Palmyra, nieces of the groom. The ring bearers were JC Pontius and Eli Pontius, sons of Jared and Gina Pontius, Palmyra, nephews of the groom. The candlelighters were Jessica Hoey, Oak Park, Ill.; Gina Pontius, Palmyra; and Kate Hoey, Jefferson City, sisters of the groom; and Meggie Tran, Mesa, Ariz., half-sister of the bride. The ushers were Ross Licklider, Columbia, cousin of the groom; Ben Licklider, Holts Summit, cousin of the groom; Tim Sullivan, St. Louis, cousin of the groom; and Jordan Thompson, Jefferson City, cousin of the bride. The pianist/organist was Lesley Smith, Jefferson City. The guitarist was Ed Stroesser, Jefferson City, and the vocalists were Ed Stroesser and Valda Stroesser, Jefferson City. The Mass server was Maya Heckart, Jefferson City, cousin of the groom. The lectors were Jerry Kraus, Jefferson City, uncle of the bride, and Janel Luck, Jefferson City, aunt of the groom. Offertory was presented by Thi Tran, St. Ann, godfather/uncle of the bride; Jan Haslag, Loose Creek, godmother/aunt of the bride; Ted Sullivan, Roeland Park, Kan., godfather/uncle of the groom; and Roberta Licklider, Holts Summit, godmother/aunt of the groom. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at Capital Ritz. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by Dennis and Roberta Licklider was held October 9, 2015, poolside at their home in Holts Summit. The bride is a 2006 graduate of Helias High School, Jefferson City, and a 2010 graduate of the University of MO-Columbia with a Bachelor of Health Sciences. She is a Realtor with Downtown Realty. The groom is a 2006 graduate of Helias High School, Jefferson City; a 2010 graduate of the University of MO-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies; and a 2015 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a Master of Science in Accounting. He is a Staff Accountant with Patterson and Forck. The couple resides in Jefferson City.
