One Yellow Rose! By L. Don Oliver
While trimming the abundant weeds, Before the event of Summer _; A very lovely Yellow Rose, While weeding, I did _;
Where did it come from, Mine not to reason ; It was such a beautiful rose, Enough to make this one _;
Not wishing to cut it down, I trimmed around it's _; I espied an industrious Honeybee, Exiting it's lovely _;
The little Honeybee returned, I let the Yellow Rose ; It's beauty to never be seen, If I had caused it to ;

Whenever my never comes, And there will come that flame; Looking back upon the road of life, Did I venture the proper lane?;
Taking everything for granted, Was the only avenue for me; Never searching for the answers, That closed eyes refused to see;
Spring vanished into Summer, Like a thief in the night; Summer escaped into Autumn, Altering its changing light;
Winter was but a moment, Regrets blanketed the ground; No more tomorrows to come, Life is so deeply profound;
Never, did I say the right words, Nor, did I do the little things; To enjoy each awakening hour, And the beauty that it brings;
Now that life has passed me by, Only destiny remains to persuade; What will be the consequence, Of the choices that were made?;
