Nixon seems to not understand, the federal dollars will go away and once again we will be on the hook, we don't need to "strengthen medicaid", we need to decrease the unemployment and keep our tax dollars here not send them to DC where "lawmakers" there will spend it on another unnecessary pet project.

I have attended board meetings and asked questions, spoken to board members and voiced concerns about what is happening at the school, so I have not been "anonymous" when it comes to concerns about the school or safety of children.

wyriontair 1 year, 9 months ago on Drivers endure high gas prices despite US oil boom

Prior to the 2008 election when gas was over $2 a gallon, the press and Democrats and then candidate Obama were screaming "it's all George Bush's fault" They all excoriated him and all Republicans, when gas went below $2 everyone still went after him. Fast forward, 2009 prices were starting to climb higher and higher, I didn't hear ONE Democrat or News Organization go after this President, they suddenly said he doesn't have any control over gas prices, it's the fault of an earthquake, hurricaine, tsunami, turmoil in the middle east, it was one excuse after another. Yes, there is more drilling on "PRIVATE" land but virtually non-existent on "PUBLIC" lands. Now the regulations are excessive, the Dept of Interior, Dept of Energy, and other agencies have, for the most part, stopped granting companies permits to drill. If you want lower prices, I suggest you stop whining about it and call your Senators and Representatives and tell them to start doing their jobs and tell those agencies to stop ruining our economy.

I say contact the company and ask how much they're tacking on to "paying" customers to pay for this "free" service? If they get enough complaints they might just stop it. What has happened to this country?

Some parents have tried for years to end "late-start Tuesdays" it's about time they actually do something that parents want. As for "their first round of professional security training on how to deal with intruders.", I'm curious as to whether they did training on how to deal with the predators INSIDE the school, they haven't done such a good job on that. Maybe that's where the focus should be NOT on outside predators. As for the "remote locks on doors, they tried a somewhat similar system last year, parents were not able to get in unless they called ahead and even then sometimes couldn't get anyone in the office to answer a phone, much less open the door. What would have happened if there were a "intruder" out in the parking lot, or a natural disaster, how would the students get in if it's the same ridiculous system they had previously?

Claire will say and do anything to not address her record, talk about "extreme". If you disagree with her you're labled nasty names by her staff, which she and her staff seem to forget they are supposed to work for "us" not Obama. I truly hope she gets voted out.

Maybe NB would be able to give actual educators a raise if they didn't waste money on the ball fields and parking lot.

wyriontair 2 years, 2 months ago on Face to face: Obama, Romney in crackling debate

I find it fascinating that the focus seems to be on guns. Sorry RobHunterJohnson, the only thing Obama did was show himself to be just as rude as Biden. The moderator was horrible, she let the president ramble his talking-points then lied about the speech in the rose garden. If you actually watched the speech he DID NOT call what happened in Libya a "terrorist attack", if you watched the hearings last week on Capitol hill the State Department was sticking to it's intial statement even though State Department officials admitted it was a well planned attack. The main theme through both presidential debates is this: Romney believes in the Constitution, Obama believes Government is the answer to everything and should tell us all what to do. Gas, food, health care and other items we use every day have risen exponentially, yet the president wants to continue the same policies. It's time for a change and I truly hope people actually research before the vote.

The NB Foundation must be made up of the School Board and their friends otherwise they wouldn't be donating funds for the school without investigating their record on some questionable educational practices.
