Most of these business spaces are rented, just in the last 3 months over 10 new rental units have been built. All the landlords care about is creating more rentable space. If the parking keeps getting worse, it's going to drive business' out and then you are going to end up with a residential neighborhood, which is not desireable for the economy. The $20 fee is way to low also, those who work downtown pay $60 for their spaces, the residents should be held equally accountable.I think by making people who want to live downtown pay the same parking fee, you can weed out the undesireable residents like the ones Ron Kaiser rents to.

So the average price of gas is down 8.5% over last year, and they are getting a 4.8% increase. The average worker only earned 3.9% more and had to work 5.3% more hours. All this information from the same source .... The bureau of labor statistics. Can we also get a report on wages and jobs created or lost by the waste company since the contract went ino effect. I can't find the article now, but New Bloomfield just rebid their contract and their rates for trash service are much lower than our current rate and the trucks have to drive an extra 12 miles just to get there. Sounds like more corruption to me.

What a horrible headline ... Fatima is a local school too maybe the headline should have read Fatima beats Blair Oaks to claim tourney title. Or to they only matter when its convenient for the paper?

The city does not own that company, if they did, the construction work would have to be bid out per state law and would be subject to the sunshine laws which this company is not. Non-Profit it may be, but he still receives a salary, if it was a true non-profit, he would be a volunteer.

I am not saying he is a bad person, I am just saying the way the city deals with it's finances and gives money away like crazy its a bad decision, heck I wish I could get the same deal with the city,

Old Town Revitalization Company, the City buys him buildings and he oversees their renovation, all for a hefty salary.

Everyone should look at the list of projects .... it is laughable. Most of the projects are to train skilled workers to leave this town ... a culinary school for Lincoln, there are more unemployed chefs and cooks in this town than construction workers, and the nursing school will train people to work in Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Not to mention the projects to fill Mr. Freemans pocket book with the Old Town Revitilization company. And the Chestnut extention and Parkway ????? I thought thats why we were doing all that construction on Lafayette and putting in an interchange to get to the prison ???? I'm confused

WIsh you all would cover Fatima sports better they are a local team, and most of the kids that go to the school, their parents work in Jeff City. Most of the time its just a byline, these kids deserve better coverage for their hard work.
