And will we, the City of Jefferson, be able to have any input on the decision making since it will be in OUR city and be near OUR neighborhoods?? Highly unlikely. And it's also doubtful we, the City, will get to see any of the proposed ideas to even get an idea of what "they" want to do with such a historic place.
What's worse is that even JCPD are afraid to go into that area of E Miller. Heck they won't even go to control the crowds at the park across from the Animal Shelter on E Miller.
But remember, any house that's refurbished needs to be TAKEN CARE OF by the persons living in it and the owners!!! Too many times they go to poo because people don't take pride in what they don't own (renters!!).
The only thing I can say is they better NOT tear it down. It is a beautiful biulding with LOTS of oldness. JEFF CITY-Don't tear it down!!!!!
Unilever, Scholastics, R R Donnelly, etc.....just to name a few.
WORKING FOR THE STATE IS NO GOOD!!!! No one cares anymore about what we do. Not only do we work for the rest of MO but also, we work for ourselves! The Support Staff at the State, regardless what bureau/unit, are the LIFE BLOOD of the state. It disgusts me that our sttate has THE LOWEST paid state workers in any state in the nation. Our own Governor doesn't care about our safety. The "higher ups" have no appreciation for their workers in their bureaus and units. No cost-of-living raise in 3 out of 4 budget years and none at all over the last two years. Jobs are cut, state healthcare is cut, funding is cut and yet we are told to "suck it up". What a waste! If you are wanting to work for the State of MO, go somewhere else because it isn't worth it.
I have a good friend who has a Masters in Computer Technology. He has been trying to get a job with the state for quite some time. And no, not the piddly jobs like most do, but a real pc tech job. You know what the state tells him....he's TOO qualified. Now tell me how does that work? Can't get a job because he's TOO qualified. Why the heck jobs tell people this, is beyond me. If someone WANTS a job and NEEDS a job, why deny them this? And he's willing to take a pay cut. Tell me, how does that work. And you say it's THEIR fault for having a degree and not using it. YOU ARE WASTING SPACE with your comments. Go back under your rock from whence you came.
Actually, kelliedi, casenet doesn't have all the info for people. I know some that their entire record isn't on there. The HP is where to find all info on someone.
Bars can have children in them until 9pm or whatever the policy is for the bar/pub. They HAVE to be included. Duh.....
Hey JCLifer, MSP SHOULD stay like that, maybe a little cleaned and renewed but should still stay there. It IS a part of JC's history. Tearing it down would nearly be the death of this town. When it was in operation, it was the oldest working prison west of the Miss River. You want to take that away from our town?
As for ED, I do not support it anymore because it's only being used for commercial use. JC needs to step back and take a look at ALL the things they're doing wrong in this town.
