I saw the power point of the panel's recommendation and it cited the fact that people are living longer. I am curious to see if they looked at the life span of the population as a whole, or the life span of combat vets/military retirees who have been exposed to harsh conditions, physical hardship for 20+ years and the myriad of unhealthy substances you are exposed to in combat zones and 3rd world countries.
I personally think that electric light has been one of the greatest inventions in modern history. Surgeons can perform life saving surgeries at night, pilots can land planes at night. Anyone can read a book in bed. I don't stub my toe and can see the toilet when I get up in the night to use the bathroom. Which makes my mornings a much happier event.
These are great times we live in.
A family lost a father, grandfather and great grandfather. America lost another WWII hero.
May his family find solace in the fact that he is at peace and is with his wife. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Rest in Peace Reuben. Thank you for your service and legacy.
