Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
Chamber of Commerce, CVB, JCTV, City Council pay, if possible move money from parks and rec; any monies for such things as historical society, art in the park, look closely at planned purchases so as not to buy another item like the noise maker that the mayor likes at council meetings (when 3 minutes are up for an uninvited guest) (what a waste of money). Last items to touch -- fire and police services.
The members of the chamber were not elected by the people of the city. They should have no more say about the final location than any other citizen. If the chamber wants to be the decision maker then they can spend their own money to build, maintain and operate the facility.
Needs to b e the entire council -- they were elected to make decisions not to pass the buck and blame someone else down the road if this all goes sour.
Perhaps the two resignations were due to being fed up with internal politics. The mayor needs to accept their resignations and move forward and stop trying to talk them into coming back.
The first cut should be on those people directly responsible for the overspending. Eliminate all pay and allowances pay for the mayor and the city council and look at reducing the pay of the city administrator and eliminating all allowances for this position. Does the city still need a publis relations person??

I guess that $100,000 given to Columbia to entice an airlilne will probably be gone since they'll probably curtail services due tyo no control tower.
