State imposes no-wake zone at Lake of the Ozarks July 2, 2015
JC,yes we do need to start sueing .Sate law states they "May" re-asses property values every 2yrs. Do you also know the city just took out $4,000,000 in bonds w/o our vote, and gave it to a local buisness for a printing machine! They are out of control and believe they are above the law. Also we now pay the city Administrator $150,000 plus ben.,the school super now$200,000 plus ben. This a small town! Now they want a 1/2 cent sales tax for 10yrs est. $60,000,000 to go directly to the Chamber of Commerce. A buisness enhancement tax. People better wake up!
Jeff City Concilman told me crime has not gotten worse here, shows how out of touch they are!
Is anyone watching these people? They just gave $4,000,000 of our money to a private buisness!
Hopehe's happy wiith his $150,000yr job
I think it may be time for us to think about legal action against the city council, things i see going on would be liable in the private sector .Ambulance tax(misappropriation of funds) Chamber of Commerce tax (conflict of interest, most are members or were) minipulation of votes(their pet tax increases voted on single ballots, were turnout averages .07%) Voting doesn't work, same type of people keep running. Make them each financially liable for their actions.Found out in life you can talk untill your blue in the face, the won't hear you, hit them in the wallet they here you every time.
The only thing that will stop the city council,is to take legal actions against them ,for misappropriation of funds (ambulance tax for one) blackmail (sewer rates vs annexation) camber of commerce tax (conflict of interest)most members belong to, or are affiliated to the camber.Manipulation of votes ( special votes set at known low turnout times) .Misrepresentaion, they want a conference center not a convention center(a convention center would cost $50-100 million)A conference center woud be usedfor chamber & city buisness.
It's pretty simple go down and measure the parking space width see if they are up to code.
Read carefully, conference center, this is for local use.
With benefits, retirement, multiple holidays, computer games, slow workpace, use of cars, cell phones, and pay above average local level, still not enough! Other states should follow our example! A government living within it's means how absurd! Most would never make it in the private sector.Who is going to pay for these raises, The government has milked us dry. Any of you hear something about a depression! Tell your superiors to stop taking all the pay raises!
How did the camber of commerce get the power to try to impose over a $60,000,000 tax increase on us! They are private ,not elected. I am not an attorney ,but I dont' think this is legal. Shame on our elected officials for letting it get this far. This tax is for private buisness,if these projects are such money makers let them pay. Lately our city officials have been wined & dined by the chamber, and remember most of them are buisness owners too! The 1%ers are always tryng to make their money with yours. We need to keep a close eye on them, They are trying to be like those in Washington. Show up onMonday!
