I am confused about your willingness to make claims about evidence you claim to have seen/read, but are not then willing to share that evidence.

You make claims that Missouri officials are engaging in behavior which you believe to be questionable then refuse to name names or provide the links?

"Find it yourself" does not really cut it. If you are going to make claims such as this then please provide the backing so that individuals are able to examine the source material for your claims themselves. The claim itself is often enough to cause damage even without substantiation, the material will only provide the ability for those who wish to to draw their own conclusions.

Its underwear get over it, any and all needed modesty is maintained. Do you get offended if you see me wandering commando, there is only one layer between my butt and your eyes.

Yup it looks totally and completely stupid, but if the city takes action on this because it simply offends some people then that waste of the city's time is by far the more inept of the two actions.

right, but the relative ability to purchase goods has a disparity when the increase is not based on percentage of prior income. The point of COLA adjustments is to keep incomes inline with prices. In essence it allows wages to keep up with incomes. 1000 dollars to you has a much lesser meaning that it does to someone making a much lower salary.

onlineidentity 4 years, 1 month ago on Lawmaker seeks study of state employee salaries

Its because the raise is meant to keep their salary the same in "real dollars," basically its meant to keep the purchasing power the same for both employees. according to the numbers you posted your clerical should have a lifestyle which is supported at half the price of your own. If you follow your reasoning then there is no reason for you to make more in the first place, all employees should make the same salary regardless of position.

I think that whats happening in Japan is pretty good proof that nuclear plants are pretty safe. The worst thing that could possibly happen did and the fail safes Scramed the reactor.

OK, teach them some of the values that religious schools teach, just do not teach them that all value is derived from christ or god.

Yah i get where you are coming from and on a national level I agree with you. In the case of the state though I don't think the analogy fits. States are designed as small self governing divisions.

I also didn't intend to single you out so much with the comment. It was more aimed at the whole process of the elected representatives taking precedence over democracy.

onlineidentity 4 years, 4 months ago on Mo. Senate votes to repeal some dog-breeding rules

wow, what a real perversion of the idea of democracy. Because the majority of the people of the political unit did want this we changed the rules to use representatives.

Basically your argument is that since the greatest area of the state wanted this change it shouldn't matter that the greatest number wanted it to stay the way it was.

onlineidentity 4 years, 4 months ago on Missouri district knew nothing of teacher’s porn past

There is no reason that what you did in the 90's means you cant be a good teacher. A good teacher is a good teacher regardless of their past.

The only caveat I would add to this is if they molest then they should not be allowed to teach ever again. I would also argue that in this case past actions predict future action and therefore is a very different issue.

Hypothetically, if she was the highest performing teacher in the school based on standardized scores, grades, and dropouts she should be fired and replaced with another teacher who may or may not be any good at all?? How does this make any sense whatsoever or do anything to improve the school.

I really doubt this teacher was telling her classes about her past, or glorifying it in any way. In fact, when you read the article, you learn that she absolutely regrets that she made a mistake.
