After two years of study? Really? I remember this so called new high school being studied in 1995. Hmmmmmm, now we know why our students are unable to do math. Stop trying to expand the current old building and build a new one. There is plenty of space maybe try the area by the Wal-mart on Supercenter dr.
I understand why the Salvation Army still does the bell ringers, but the group needs to really start finding a new avenue of collections technics. At least 80% of consumers don't carry cash or coin anylonger. So we don't have any money to put in the read kettle.
Yeah right, the "unforeseen circumstance" would be because Mr. Otke wants Jefferson City to grow but the City officials want the city to die. Again I ask that Columbia officials please annex Jeff city now and help it.
I know for a fact that the owner of capital plaza tried to bring a large convention center here and was told NO by our beloved city hall! There have also been others. But that's alright let's just keep sending the businesses to Columbia.
This needs to be built close to the highway!!!! DUH!! Build at Broadway! Why would you even consider building where there is ZERO traffic. Along the highway is where it needs to be, where businesses and large crowds have easy access. I'm guessing you didn't even think about large 18 wheeled vechiles either. I can't wait to see those over turn downtown.
Only 500 parking spaces! Really, Hey Jefferson City Council please goto columbia or Saint Louis and count how many spaces a real convention center has! Please build a parking garage instead of level parking. This will fail if you don't do it right and in 5 years we'll have to pay to have it torn down also. Just let private business take care of this, they know what their doing. Just collect the taxes like a good city does.
I would just like to know if the new mayor watches these posts at least weekly and see's how un-happy his citizens are. Maybe he needs to speak out about the overall topic here is that Jefferson City is still in the 1900's time era and what his plans are to move up into the 2000's. Maybe we need to bring up a vote to annex again, except this time let's vote to have columbia annex Jefferson City. Please mayor speak up.

You forgot to point out the JC Mall, What a wonderful place that is. I think the decor is still from 1976. Let's just add to the shame.
