Hello? Conner's statement, "This isn't about science it is about a woman's right to declare a situation rape when they want and no one with a dissenting opinion is allowed to be heard let alone have any say whatsoever. "
How did you all let that go or did you all just stop reading his comments by that time?
Does my rapist from back in college get a "say" on whether or not that unwanted intercourse was rape? I bet he had a "dissenting opinion".
Conner appears to be voting for Akin no matter what.
We are extremely healthy eaters at home and I brag about my kids' eating habits. However, my daughters' school provides very few healthy choices. I shudder to remember what I was fed in high school 15 years ago. Three cheers to all the educators working on this issue. I smile each time I pass West School and see their garden.
Whatif: It was voted on. (2010 I believe but may be wrong.) The reason bags were eliminated was reportedly due to the physical cost to trash personnel. You sound like an extremely responsible person who is a good steward of the earth. Unfortunately, not everyone was. Trash workers were getting out at several houses on every block (even in summer heat and icy winter conditions) and slinging bags, some up to 30 pounds, into the back of a truck. Bags were not going to be an option no matter what trash service was hired.
Its about time! My neighbors have skipped paying for trash since the law passed. They can pay for their two pack a day habit and nightly McDonalds so now they can finally pay to haul the trash from their backyard and into a container. Go progress!
JCLIfer: $300 electric bill? Geez! Either you bought a giant, useless house or sleep with the fridge door wide open. Turn your thermostat up. It's 2012!!!!!! Learn how to conserve energy. How many lawns are you watering for $200? What selfish use of resources!!!
Bags were not going to be an option. It cost too much and took too much time to have workers exit their trucks and hoist bags (some upwards of 30 punds) over their bodies and into the truck.
Our cost is still incredibly low when looking at national averages.
However, I'm sure it is incredibly frustrating for you to pay so much more. Thanks for always doing your part!
