I moved from that area. Get out while you can. I have literally little to no crime where I live. This situation is NOT going to get better. And you are so right about the slumlords there being well known.
Ah, yes, Verminville. Know it well. Constant chaos, Sheriff running around chasing kids. People telling you to move if you don't like it. Yep, I knew who the kid was as soon as I saw his pic.
As much as I loved Gracia....I had a beef about some things she did. The brainchild program where she sent the unemployed people to a two year college was one of them. I watched as someone bled that dry. They even allowed payment for mileage to and from the school. Not good, especially when it doesn't pan out.
I have a brand new heat pump and hate the thing. Its broken down twice and has costs me more in fixing it than it would have to just run my stip heating. Awful.
Very sad. My sympathies to the family. Its so easy to lose your footing around the docks. We never think to put a life jacket on just to board the boat.
I gave a huge amount of things to Habitat when we moved and would do it again in a heartbeat. Great organization.
Her and her parents ARE fine examples. I so agree.
You want to do an article, do one on the county gun laws in Callaway. NOT everyone is a good parent that watches over their kid's shooting. NOT everyone is a responsible kid like this one.
This is terrific until you have some nutwad kid that lives next door to you shooting off of their deck. County laws need to be re examined. Its not OK to shoot in a close subdivision and hold your neighbors hostage so badly that they can't even go in their backyard. My niece shoots and they live on some acreage. We shoot and go to a range. Use your common sense as these people have (I am sure). Its a great sport but please keep it safe and respect those around you.
