Past public participation in JCPS activities has been limited and often times openly dismissed. Unless BIG money is backing the parent that is interested, the school board is minimally concerned with public opinion.
I was told by past board members that their job was to hire the superintendent, and only that. The rest of the time they voted for his agenda because to disagree was to admit they didn't choose the right super. How pea-brained is that!?
JCPS has a history of beginning projects without public support and continuing them without the wanted increases in funding. The funding then comes at the expense of employees (diminished benefits, pay freezes, etc.) and the students (less services and resources).
