Channel 17 aired this news article tonight at 6:00 PM with a video inside the shelter of dogs and cats.
Shoemaker of the Police Department was the spokesperson for the Shelter
with a short video downtown and an opinion of one JC citizen.
Probably be aired this evening at 9:00 PM
And yes, there should be an Animal Control Commission
no one who is politically affiliated with the city should be allowed
to be a member, only concerned citizens and veterinarians who are
not contracting with the city shelter.
I think the police should be removed from jurisdiction of the Shelter
No, it is not a step in the right direction. They are simply patting us on our heads,
saying "Now there."
The problem, it is sad to say, is when the Police was made owner of the Shelter( for backup
so that they could enter your property premises.)
The police department has more and better things to do.
Nothing has changed, except the placement on the totem pole
Business as usual!
This is only a Band-Aid on the problem; and, as I read the article, there is still
an opening for co2 gas to be used in the shelter, and I am sure it will be.
As well Captain Cenova of the JC Police Department, let's give him credit
for his timely departure. (see post above.)
I don't think the dog catcher is that literate. Sorry, sad but true.
He just takes orders.
b/t/w for anyone interested, next city hall meeting is July 15.
I am doubtful the shelter issue will be at the fore, as those matters
are discussed, cut and dried, in the "brown bag" "smoke-filled" room
meetings closed to the public; they have been in the past. SECRETS!

And in support of cats (felines.)
In 1997 I joined the CFA and began breeding and showing Persian cats;
my cats cost an average of $800 to $2000 each. I learned to properly groom
them for showing, and I learned to care for their health. I learned much from
other seasoned cat show campaigners. I had many thousands of dollars in all
my cats. I had solid colors and tabbies.
I loved my cats; in fact I find cats more attuned to my personality than dogs. They
are complacent, loyal, and loving.
I support cats in every way.
