Did you know you can own $100,000 piece of land and pay less than $250 taxes on it, just because it don't have a residence on it. But a $100,000 house/land combo gets around $900 in taxes.
All because the assessed value of land is much much lower. If you can afford a quarter million dollar piece of land you should be paying taxes on the value, not just paying on 5%. .
This town is as crooked as the federal government. Making laws for the people, while writing themselves out.

I'm sure the people complaining are the same ones who threw a fit years ago when it was mentioned that a Hooters restaurant may be coming here to Mayberry. There is more skin to be seen at the public pool in the summer. Heck, I've seen more skin at Walmart with these girls/women wearing low-rise jeans that are 2 sizes to small.
Whether anyone likes it or not, the girl getting the tat could have very well walked don't the middle of the street in a string bikini, showing WAY more skin, and be doing absolutely nothing wrong. People need to quit being crybabies.
Yes, thank you Parks and Rec for wasting $20,000 plus on labor and paint. What a waste of my tax dollars. Because, anyone with a little common sense knows a mile marker is not a sign of good health or a good workout.
