dinger 3 years, 2 months ago on Mo. Democrat proposes assault weapon ban

Got to laugh at some of the proposal our fine elected leaders put forward. Do they really think that hardly anyone would abide with this law. All they want to do is create a new class of felons that they can have control over. Gun control laws have nothing to do with safety or security they are for controlling the people to give themselves more power. IF this is such a good thing then why are there exemptions in the bill?

This piece of legislation is a total farce like that proposed by the Odumbo administration which is also nothing more than a control measure so they can have absolute power over the citizens of this country. Measures such as these need to be fought against and fought hard and, the voters need to remember those that make these proposals and vote them out as quick as possible as they are the worst type of politician.

Well he's not the first governor to receive a big donation from that company and others like Microsoft that have received lucrative contracts from the State.

dinger 3 years, 10 months ago on Our Opinion: Health mandate construed as permissible tax

I don’t believe that people realize the chilling effects of this ruling by the Supreme Court when you don’t look at the Obamacare part of it. What this ruling has done if given the Federal Government the power to force, though the tax code, anything that it wants. For example if Congress decides that all cars and trucks are required to get 25 miles per a gallon of gas or face a $2,000 tax fine then this can be done with ease and there is no recourse as this decision has given them the power to do that.

This decision by five of the justices makes it possible for this country that has been slowly heading down the road of despotism to now take a head long dive into it instead. I am afraid that with this ridiculous decision that our country, as a republic, is not savable and desperate measures may have to be taken to restore this country once again back to the citizens of it. I personally hope this does not happen but with two the two powers that are now in control there is no light at the end of the tunnel that I can see.

I'm not a Rush fan but they put in a self proclaimed flameing liberal left broadcaster when they put in Walter Cronkite and Rush is a self proclaimed flameing liberal right broadcaster.

So whats the difference?

Actually you are correct and Jesse James should be included as he is among some of the most famous Missourians.

dinger 4 years, 2 months ago on Our Opinion: Legislators move to expand 'Move Over' law

It sounds good and feels good but vehicles other than MODOT have and use amber lights. With the information contained in this editorial you would have to move over for anyone that has an amber light including tractors, mailmen, or any Joe blow that has an amber light which is legal for anyone to own and use. How would you know if it's a MODOT vehicle until you get to it and it’s too late to slow up or pull over without possibly creating more of a hazard by a sudden lane change or braking? Also by including the flashing white lights all one would have to do is flash their headlights to get people to move over to have some fun.

If this is what they want why not just pass a bill that says we have to get over for anything that is on the side of the road then we can all drive in the left hand lane most of the time getting over for everyone and everything that is on the side of the road. Somewhere someone has to take responsibility for their actions and that includes anyone on the side of the road including emergency vehicles and MODOT workers as they have to be aware of their actions as they do work in a hazardous area.

In response to the no passing part that is ridiculous to put in there as you already can’t pass since a two lane road on either a divided highway or two lane road is already shut down to one lane and it’s already a ticketing offence to pass. This would be just plain crazy to enforce on a three or more lane divided highway as they only shut down one lane at a time and leave the others open. In a case such as that it would be unenforceable and should be.

This bill is just another example of lawmakers wanting to get their name on something that’s feel good and doesn’t do anything but add more unneeded laws to the books that are virtually worthless.

dinger 4 years, 2 months ago on Mo. presidential primary sets low mark in turnout

The presidential primary that was just held is nothing but a joke that cost the state seven million wasted dollars that could have been used to balance our fragile Missouri economy. The presidential primary is not a public right like the presidential election but is a something that the parties do as it’s their candidate. The political parties are private entities who are only responsible to their members concerning what candidate runs under their banner. The recent primary election meant as much if there had been a statewide vote held when Budweiser sold out to InBev as their board of directors are only responsible to their stockholders and not to the people of Missouri.

If the presidential primary just has to be done then all the political parties represented in the primary should have to pay all costs equally. I’m not sure how many political parties were represented but, if it was five parties then each party should have to pay the state 1.4 million dollars for the primary and this should be paid up front so they can’t duck the payment or make them post a 5 million dollar bond.

Should have been concurrent sentences in that way parole would have taken longer as consecutive means both sentences run together instead of one after the other.

dinger 4 years, 2 months ago on Opponents of Mo. payday loan ballot measure rally

Of course the legalized loan sharks would oppose this bill so they can keep their 300 to 500 annual percentage rate loans going and keep people paying them as long as they can.

dinger 4 years, 3 months ago on ‘Target stickers’ still being probed

Looks to me there’s more being put into this than necessary and a few are using it to grandstand and get heard. It looks more like a high school prank than anything.

By the way what was done that was criminal in nature? Littering perhaps for putting something unapproved on the wall? I can understand that it needs to be looked into but this is a very low priority event and should be treated as such. Even if it offends someone it’s not against the law to offend, yet.
