Is Schib still getting paid by the Social Security Administration? It seems to me that he may have committed a crime by accessing these records without a warrant.

Why does the federal government continue to borrow money so that they can give it to the UN? What did the UN do during Libya? What has the UN done about North Korea, even when it sank a South Korean naval vessel? What is the UN doing about Syria?

The answer to all three of the above questions is, "Nothing of any substance."

The UN does manage to keep the pockets of a bunch of corrupt people filled. That seems to be its most obvious activity.

While I may be somewhat sympathetic with Ms. Thomas, a mother of three who has only worked at fast food jobs for 15 years, I have to wonder how long it took her to figure out what caused her to have three kids that she can't afford to support? Are the three kids fathers providing no support? If not, why?

What does forming a union have to do with refusing to come to work for a day? Can't you organize and vote during non-work hours?

If they form a union, why would management seriously consider almost doubling their salaries. I suspect that there are plenty of other unskilled workers willing to fill any job openings.

Ms. Thomas has had 15 years to improve her skills to the point where she could get a better job. Why has she been unable to do so?

Mr. Rafanan wants to ensure there is no retaliation. If these people worked for me and they refused to work their schedule I would just fire them. If they are so unhappy with their current jobs the manager would be doing them a favor by forcing them to go find a job where they wanted to work.

Anyone wonder why health care costs are out of control? Every time government mandates more coverage costs must increase. Do Missouri legislators really believe they are smarter than attending physicians?

bwd1947 11 months, 1 week ago on Jefferson City is considering forming a transit commission that would evaluate the city’s transit system and make recommendations to the City Council. Do you think the city should form a transit commission?

I don't really have a problem with another commission, as long as it doesn't want to spend money on another "study". Before anyone spends any significant taxpayer dollars, a method of funding JeffTran must be developed. Since only those in Jefferson City use JeffTran ALL funding should come from Jefferson City. Jefferson City residents can decide how much they want their tax dollars used to subsidize JeffTran riders.

We must break this endless cycle of doing projects with "free" money from State or Federal government. If it isn't worth funding locally, it isn't worth doing.

So it costs we taxpayers $28,300 each year for each of the youth in this program. Bet the kids would rather have the $28,300. From the Jobs Corps web site it appears that less than half the kids are placed in jobs when they leave the program. Good investment of tax dollars, or just another politician vote buying program?

bwd1947 1 year, 2 months ago on Our Opinion: Refine strategy to combat meth

The only sane solution is to legalize all drugs, for adults, and tax the heck out of them. In addition incredibly severe penalties should be enforced against anyone who commits a crime while under the influence of drugs. Taxes on the drugs could be used to pay for the cost of incarceration. Routine random drug testing should be legalized for all who collect welfare. If people are buying drugs with welfare money they have proved that they don't deserve the welfare. Those who fail drug tests and who have children, would be able to temporarily put their children in the custody of a relative. That relative would then receive the welfare money.

bwd1947 1 year, 2 months ago on Our Opinion: Treatment courts save tax money, restore lives

I have heard the same old, "We just have to do this, it saves us money!" so many times that it makes me want to vomit. If even a majority of these programs actually saved money then why does federal, state and local government continue to suck up an ever increasing share of our GDP?

Only in a lunatic society run by liberals/progressives could this be allowed to happen. I can't even imagine how things will be if we get hammered with 4 more years of Obama. Taxpayers no longer have any rights, we are just the serfs of the left wingers running the country.
