ANR obfuscates the results of the Indoor Air study that compared exhaled cigarette smoke to e-cigarette vapor. In vapor, researchers were able to detect measurable amounts of only 6 of the 20 highest compounds found in smoke, and those measurements were in parts per billion. None of the chemicals in vapor came anywhere close to limits set for clean air standards. E-cigarettes are quite legal to use in any venue where the clean indoor air legislation has not been revised (following ANR's misleading "model legislation") to falsely define use of an e-cigarette as "smoking." Vapor does not contain tar, particulates, carbon monoxide, and thousands of chemicals created by the process of combustion. ANR is outright lying when it claims companies advertise their products as effective smoking cessation products. Any US e-cigarette vendor that tells the truth about the effectiveness of e-cigarettes for smoking cessation will be put out of business by the FDA for "making health claims." Discouraging the use of alternatives that are up to 99% less hazardous than smoking for the users, and that are essentially harmless to bystanders, shows an appalling disregard for human health and life on the part of anti-smoker groups like ANR.
