TylerWoods 2 years, 5 months ago on JC municipal court has seen dramatic increase in cases, revenues

What both of these stories fail to mention is that a lot of "new" case load is the city taking some of the county load so they can focus on other crime. Everyone wants to complain about having to pay a fine for something they didn't know or they didn't think was fair... If you are going to live here, know the law, if you break the law pay a fine like everyone else. Everyone wants to see the PD focus more on serious crime, if you would do your homework you would see that many serious offenders are arrested and found during a traffic stop... Our officers and court system are doing a great job!

Now is simply not the time for an increase in taxes. During my campaign, I have visited with hundreds of Ward 1 residents that feel now is not the right time, nor the right projects are at hand. Therefore being a possible representative of the people, I have to vote no on this tax. I believe if we take one project at a time we will continue to grow, no need to subject every tax payer to higher prices and take away from their family, or business. I want to do great things, we are a capital city; there should be growth, reconstructing fragile areas, and updating our emergency services to the equipment and living quarters they need to better perform their duties. This is why families and businesses support me and my campaign to become City Councilman in Ward 1 - Principles.

Projects like these will need knowledgeable guidance, and strong leadership. I am an open ear to anyone in the city, and also a candidate for the Ward 1 council seat. We need new, fresh views in our city and on our city council. Please visit my website for contact information. Thanks, Tyler

Good luck to Mr. Griffith! A great councilman, and community leader. I am sure there will be great candidates come forward and want to give this a shot. It is a great pleasure getting to know my neighbors and fellow ward residents better during my campaign. I am sure the 5th ward candidate(s) will agree. Good luck to all!

I believe being a younger individual with previous and current involvement in our community I have a new approach you could say. If elected I would like to take a mixture of advice and input for my decision making, something I believe has lacked in the past. I have filed for City Council previously and withdrawn, we are 7 days away from the election and I think if you view back into the summer when this position was up for appointment, I was a candidate at that time. I promised to file in the fall and at 5am I came to city hall and waited outside the doors to be the first one to do so. My dedication and commitment to Jefferson City is growing everyday, I enjoy meeting the people, going door to door, making personal phone calls ect. The votes I am asking for will not be thrown out a window, nor be disregarded when it comes time to vote as a council on a issue that effects everyone in JC. I can only express my sincere commitment for New Leadership, and New Ideas through words and ads, it will take getting elected and showing action I believe to change the minds of the undecided. I would appreciate the support on April 5. Please call me if you would like to talk more, 573-230-3072, Thanks! TW

Issues such as this one and many others are going to require Time, Energy, & Commitment to see through. Jefferson City needs to move forward with New Leadership, New Ideas, & The Right Person with energy and time. Don't keep the wheels spinning on projects such as this one, lets get somewhere with answers, move projects or stop them, don't keep them on burners taking up staff time and citizens worries. I would appreciate you voting for WOODS City Council Ward 1

TylerWoods 3 years, 10 months ago on City to begin process to annex two hotel properties

First, the tax was raised from 3% to 7%, increase by 4, not 3. Second, these issues are the focal point of distrust in city hall and our current elected officials. These type of issues need fresh perspective, new ideas, and someone with creative thinking that will not follow the pack. A younger generation of city government is needed to weigh in on topics such as this one. Jefferson City has a lot of deciding to do on a lot of different issues in the near future. Our city needs someone that will be active in learning and working with the people to represent the people in these decisions. That is why I would appreciate your vote April 5 for City Council Ward One.
