A Republican dares to say something nice about the President so he's out of the club now? And all you have is a fat joke? Sad.

I like Christie. It's nice to see a politician doing what's right for his people and not just his career.

TickledPink 1 year, 11 months ago on Kansas tries to make sperm donor pay child support

What about a single, straight woman getting a sperm donor and having a baby? Should that be denied? What does it matter if she's straight or gay? These two women chose to have a baby then split up. Whoever the non custodial parent is, they should be the one paying child support, not the donor. This does however provide sufficient reason to go through a doctor instead of using the turkey baster method. Even a trip to an attorney with the indemnity paperwork would have been a better idea. Was this agreement written in any legal fashion at all?

There are tons of articles about pit bull attacks; enough so that people are inordinately afraid of them. I do not now, nor have I ever owned a pit but I do think they're great dogs. My brother has had them for years and because his are raised in loving, family homes, they're wonderful pets and I've never had a worry about my kids being around them. Any dog can attack if provoked. There are very basic "rules" for having children around dogs. Unfortunately, too many parents let their kids pull ears, poke, jump on or otherwise torment dogs because they think it's "cute" then want to cry foul when the dog bites.

Connor, did you like the idea of self deportation? Would you please self ban. I believe you say these things to get a rise out of the other people on these forums and that's not productive. If you truly believe the things you say, you're still not productive and should be removed for being a horse's patoot.

To possibly add some substance to this inanity - Yes, if teachers end up with guns in the school they should be locked up, there should be EXTENSIVE training and yes, we're going to have to pay for it. However, I will pull my sons from their schools before I'll let them be locked in with firearms. They know how to shoot - we've had guns in our home. I and select members of my family are the ONLY ones allowed to have firearms around my children.

Outperforming them in what way? Several of these schools have over 99% graduation rate. What's JC's?

TickledPink 2 years ago on Teens’ views on dangers of pot fall to 20-year low

This article is full of the same lies as every other pot article out there. “Marijuana use that begins in adolescence increases the risk they will become addicted to the drug,” she said. I've known a lot of pot smokers in my life, but none that were addicted to it. I was a smoker for years, not every day, but at least every weekend. Then one day I just stopped. Decided a beer tasted better and was more socially acceptable. If/when it becomes legal I'd more than likely become an occasional smoker again.

Marijuana will be taken off the DEA list and put where it belongs - with alcohol - but it's going to take time and real education. It's heartening that the feds aren't going to go after users in Colorado and Washington. This is definitely a case of state law prevailing and I think it will prompt other states to follow suit. Taxation and regulation are much better than criminal records and jail time.

This is why we can't have nice things ....

With either option there will need to be a tax increase. We can't remodel the current school and build another with the revenue we currently have. We certainly can't build a massive academy campus with current taxes. If a tax increase isn't approved, we're stuck with what we have now, which is obviously not working.

TickledPink 2 years ago on Our Opinion: We shortchange mental health services at our peril

Women do make up the majority of teachers but administration is male dominated. Principals, superintendants, etc are overwhelmingly male. These are the policy makers, the ones who "control" education, not teachers.

I also looked up the top Midwest high schools. The general theme - smaller enrollment, smaller class sizes. In none of the cities I looked at did they have only one mega school. Several of these are magnet schools and are in addition to the regular public school. THIS is my issue. I like the academy idea, but not as the only school in town. Set the academy as a magnet school to compliment the high school.

In all probability, this whole thing is going to get shot down at the polls so all these meetings and articles are likely a waste of time. I hope I'm wrong, but I've seen it too many times.

Women are not being oppressed or accused of mental disorders? You are so far removed from reality it's scary! Women can't even have a bad day without someone asking if it's PMS. More women are on anti-depressants than men. We have a DRUG culture, not a feminist culture. Yes, you hate women. Or at least women that have any power. You have no idea what this family went through and because the 2 main people are dead, we may never know. But to blame this on feminism is insulting and ignorant.
