Smallville, that was Betty's and Joes world! I stacked, and aligned steel beams for steel workers 1 or 2 at Delongs for $3.25,hr, or stacked books at VH for the same rate back in the late 70s! Meanwhile my counterparts back in West St Louis Co made double? This community is not a parasite by no means, it has been taken advatage of all the way back to prison labor, and that brings me back to smallville where a few succeed? Temporary jobs, and IT work again someone is taking advantage, and letting the State, or employer off the hook? I see how much some in those fields made around 2000, and its less now; or no work at all! Just like the construction field, Jefferson City did stall, JC Lifer back in the 80s, when the Nuke construction ended, that was not the entire problem, but it certainly contributed! If Jefferson City wants out of this quagmire, its Real Jobs, with real wages and benefits; something Jefferson City is very short on! rob

Each one of the Cities listed either have a CASINO, or are less than 30 miles from one! I have to wonder what we could have had if Jefferson Citians would have had an open mind, at the special interest votes we held back in the 90's? These casino laws are not set in stone, maybe we need to take another look at this Council, CVB, and Chamber of Commerce? Interstates in each, and all of these communities! Why not Jefferson City, and I am not talking about a loop from Kingdom City, to Columbia? This is the State of Missouri's Capital City, it should be a thriving metropolis? Rob

Thanks again Kenneth, I was wondering how many high Schools each of these communities have, as well as convention centers? All these communities have High paying Jobs with benefits. Chesterfield should have never been used for this survey, because Jefferson City cannot hold a candle to Chesterfield! Payday is just the start having lived in both communities! Rob

Thats right JC LIFER, and the biggest employer in town needs to go out to the money tree, (All those other cities that are doing great!), and find those pay increases! Throwing all that paper into the aisle's the other day is a JOKE, they accomplished very little! Rob

The righto meter has been pegged in your case, but you informed us that you do drink from the unemployment well with your broad statement on the subject a couple of weeks ago! When you have but one item you wish for Conner, then these beloved Republicans you adore will pack it on with reduced wages, benefits, and overall less services for all of us; state wide! If I had my choice I would cut all the farm subsidies right now, and let the free market take it place: thus destroying the HOBBY FARMER, and who I view as a Leech! This disabled guy has got to go to work! Rob

Thats good they protected my gun rights! My ability to process duck eggs legal, and my grand children now can pick cotten! They also helped us with unemployment, RTW, prevailing rate, and most all created tons of low paying jobs! You may be happy with their Heroic perfomance, but I am not! By the way Senator Brian Neives, and Represenative Doug Funderburk and their paranoid delusions has been passed, so now they have a week to do something incredible for all Missourians; REAL JOBS! rob

Hey Democrats drop the guns, an baby agenda, and put this bunch back in the pages of history for another 148 years! These Republican/Pro Business folks do not get it? There is 72 records of what they have accomplished this session so far, or a waste of time in my opinion! It has been all about business accomplisments about Eggs, kids working on relatives farms, Right to Work, prevailing rate, unemployment cuts, and Union Bashing. Right after the Civil War they were refererd to as CARPET BAGGERS, and the tradition continues with this 2013 session! Rob
