Instead of a straight "sales tax" they need to think about making it a "luxury" tax. Exempt food and clothing or other items that are necessary for life and will help out the poor, low income, seniors and fixed income residents. Instead tax discretionary spending. Tax boats, big screen TV's, ATV's and the like. Even poor people will vote yes on a tax like that.

Also I noticed when I was a manager in retail that math skills are way below for a lot of people. When we were hiring we decided to add a math skills test to the application. It was very basic and should have been easy enough to complete by anybody with a 9th grade education. The test cut our interviews in half. There were so many so called High School graduates that couldn't pass it. It was sad!

Evaluating educators and others based on student performance is wrong. Some very good educators would get failing grades that are undeserved. If the students don't want to learn there's not much that can be done. If we evaluate anybody on student performance it should be the parents. Education begins in the home NOT in the schools!
UN=UNAmerican. The UN is mostly worthless. They want to tell us how to live? They need to pay their bills and get out. We have been supporting the UN for decades so the freeloaders can live here for free. Do any research on the UN and you'll find that without our financial aid they would fold up in no time at all.
