You know if Families would take care of each other there wouldn't be a need for welfare or many other government aid....that is the biggest problem with this country, no family values. Back in the good old days, parents took care of their kids and kids took care of their parents, My parents moved here from Indiana to take care of my Mom's grandparents, they didn't have nursing homes where you just drop them off and expect the government to foot the bill. My husband's family lived in one house, three stories, his grandparents on the first floor, his family on the second and an aunt and Uncle on the third...family taking care of family. When the time comes my Dad will move in with us, no we aren't rich(very far from it), but I don't expect the government to take care of my family. Enough is enough, enough of the government being in my business and enough of people who think the government owes them a living, get of your rear and take care of your own

Then you haven't been to either JCMG or CRMC in the last 3 years. They both require photo ID(I was just at CRMC on Friday). Yes some people still write checks. I didn't say you had to prove with a photo ID who you are to get a drivers licence....you are the one not living in reality.

**Let me see I have to show my photo Id at my doctors office(plus they take a picture every year for their files). You have to show a photo Id at the hospital for treatment. You have to show a photo id at a bank if you don't have an account there. You have to show a photo id to write a check at most stores, You have to prove who you are to get a drivers license, but no photo id for voting. Something is wrong with this picture.

This isn't something that will take effect the day it is signed, there will be a period of time for everyone to get their ducks in row and I bet if you called either the democrat or republican committee in your county they would find somebody that would take you to get your id...where there is a will there is a way!

Where in any of this does it say you have to have a photo voter id???? I show my drivers license(not asked too) when I vote along with my voter id card...big deal If any one truly wants to vote getting an photo id won't be a big deal, they took the trouble to go register to vote and to go vote I don't see a problem.

I said that the democrats were spending my money(ie high speed rail) and republican were saving it(not extending unemployment).

When will the democrats admit to causing the mess this country is in, no Bush didn't do it. This started with Clinton and NAFTA, and continued with Dodd and Frank, First they shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas and then they undermined the housing market and the banking industry. Bush tried to stop them, but the democrats(who held majority the last 2 years of his 2nd term)made that impossible.

This high speed rail is gonna cost a lot more....Amtrak is a failed system, all this is doing is causing a bigger failure. It will have to be bailed out yearly just as Amtrak is. This high speed rail can not use the route Amtrak does, the track I figure will run along I-70(flatter land) so that mean Jeff City will lose out. Kinda of a big price tag for 1300 jobs that will actually be paid by the government, might as well give them welfare, probably be cheaper.

I thank God everyday that I have a job and pray others will find one.

I am not happy with either political party right now, but I find myself still leaning towards conservative values associated with the republican party and I was raised a democrat, my father voted for Obama now says it was the worst decision he ever made, and believe me last November he didn't vote for any democrats and if the people we put in Washington and Jeff City don't start doing their job(don't care what party they are with) they will all be looking for new ones.

I really wish people would pay attention....republicans are against extending unemployment, democrats are taking RR money...democrats are taking my money, republicans are trying to save it. I'm sorry 79 weeks of unemployment = laziness. yes I have been fortunate to have a job thru this recession, but there have been time I have been without a job, but I didn't set back and collect unemployment....I went job hunting, yea I even flipped burgers at Mcd's, but I had a job, and kept looking for a better job...This RR money, look the government give millions to amtrak every year to keep it going, so what happens to amtrak after this highspeed rail opens? one more thing....the "rich" pay more taxes with their "breaks" than 90% of the rest of us, by the way my boss is rich, so is yours unless you work for the government.
