Yeah - that's right. not the math, it's Pete Adkins keeping the Jays from splitting up. Or maybe its Urban and the Helias Mafia voting no because JCPS wouldnt let catholic kids ride the bus 40 years ago. Or maybe its mrs weldon's ghost trying to keep the tax bill on her estate low. But the math stuff......lets ignore that.
No you don't. The community has consistently shown that ANY tax increase, or any debt on the part of the school district is opposed by more than 3/7th of voters. Based on that alone, why would you expect to foot the bill for two high schools worth of staff, faculty, support employees, phone systems, data networks, internet connections, electric bills, surveillance cameras, security, etc? everyone is quick to point out that Columbia, Cape Girardeau, whoville, etc. went to multiple schools....well - have you looked up the levies in those places? If Jefferson City wants two high schools, will you support adding $2.00/$100 to get to columbia funding levels? will you add a dollar to get to cape levels? or will you try to have two high schools get by on a fulton funding level. Rant all you want, this is about math, folks. Annual OPEX is just that - ANNUAL - and in a town where CLEARLY the voters dont want to raise taxes, an attentive school board in their right minds would NEVER pick two schools over one because this community would let the two schools rot before spending the extra "Nichols" to support them. Proof point: look what you folks have let happen to our beloved JCHS. Shame on all of you.
the Second Amendment - what a lovely distraction for all of the proles. Rex's people must be falling all over each other looking for other peoples money to hurry up and bilk while you folks fuss over what rifle stock styles and magazine capacities the founding fathers intended for you to....HEY LOOK ITS A GAY MUSLIM ABORTION DOCTOR TRYING TO TAKE YOUR GUNS WITH OBAMACARE-TYRANNY AT THE NEW MONO-HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY / CONVENTION CENTER
