I'd like someone to explain to me how that land is worth anything close to $3 million.
I was just going by the photo. So, okay, if they do a good job then lucky them. :-) I was confusing the redevelopment corporation with the city. Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm not a doctor, but I'm darn sure it takes more than five days for your skin to fuse to vinyl! Vinyl isn't even porous. I have no problem with the concept that she wished to deny medical attention and die at home. But, to leave her in her own excrement and without care? That's denying her the most basic dignity. It's inhuman.
I'm just reading this on-line right now, and perhaps the full article explains...but this caught my eye. Adjacent property owners will then own it and care for it as a greenspace.
The Adjacent property owners will own it? How does that work? Are they being given the property or paying for it? It doesn't look as though the adjacent property owners take that good of care of their own properties. Why does the city think they'll take care of this space?
I think cinkisses was talking about the young man in the story...not the president.
I saw this on Facebook. Yeah...didn't believe it then either.
Ok... .whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/05/02/osama-bin-laden-dead ... what there is a lie? Did he not authorize the mission? Because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have gone without authorization.
But we're getting totally off the point. The Embassy released a statement trying to calm people down. It did it when there was nothing going on but protests. There's been no statement from they white house that could remotely be considered apologetic.

I see. Well, I'll have to remember to not say to someone who is upset, "People shouldn't do that, everyone should be respected." for fear of being seen as apologizing for someone elses actions.
Incidently, the white house neither approved nor repeated that statement. So regardless, blaming Obama for what the Ambassador said is kind of like blaming the Mayor for a city councilman's statement.
Yes...and I remember Bush, Clinton and Bush. See, I can name presidents in order too. But you can't deny that we were losing jobs under Bush II when Obama took office and it slowed and we are now gaining. Slow, but gaining.
Incidently, I'm neither a democrat nor a republican. I'm beginning to dislike both parties equally. Election years always do that to me.
