Endangered person advisory issued for two-year-old JC boy May 28, 2015
This story contains incorrect information. Salute to America will have a beer garden, as always, with a permit issued by the city and the state in the private Central Bank parking lot. The celebration is requesting a variance to have a contained beer stand on a city parking lot to service a new Corn Toss tournament sponsored by Prison Brews and hosted by the Lincoln University Women's Basketball Team. There will also be a hotdog eating contest sponsored by J Pfenny's, a Tratoria hosted by Madisons, a beer garden at Mortimer Kegleys, live music stage by Spectators, tours of the Prison by the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau, free concerts on the Capitol Main Stage, fireworks sky concert sponsored by Missouri Credit Union...etc, etc, etc. Please visit salutetoamerica.org for a full list of all activities and the various businesses who make it happen.
On behalf of Thursday Night Live we'd like to report last night was awesome. Parents were totally on board with the revised rule of 16 and under with an adult and we saw tons of responsible kids and their families having fun, Please go take a look at the photo album on the ThNL facebook page and see for yourself how people of all ages, all walks, all different groups - families to friends - can come together to listen to three great bands, have dinner and snacks, socialize and enjoy our vibrant, downtown.
If it's not your thing, no problem. There's plenty of activities and events to choose from in our community. Thanks for all the constructive feedback. ~Jill
The article makes it seem ambiguous but just want to make sure the ThNL policy is very clear:
Under 16 will not be admitted to the festival district without an adult. ID required. Signs will be posted and security at each entrance will be checking IDs when necessary.
We clean up during/after the event and remove all our trash. It's possible additional trash accumulates between 10 pm the morning but our VOLUNTEERS take pride in returning the downtown better than we found it.
