This dear sweet lovely lady was such a special person in my life even though she was only in my life a short time. She came to teach us poor orphaned 5th graders at St Stanislaus after we had four previous teachers that school year. She guided us, shared her love of life and love of reading. To this day some 45 years later I can close my eyes and remember her reading Little House on the Prarie books to us.
I would see Barb from time to time as life moved on and she was alway quick with a smile and whether she remembered me for not - she always made me feel special.
On a side note she was the same age as my Godmother who was also named Barbara and I had just moved to the Wardsville area and away from my Godmother so maybe part of what made her so special to me was she was at the right place at the right time when my classmates and I needed the stability.
Sam and family, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss of a very special lady. God Bless Barb and her family and friends.
